Achievements in Handicapping: Bryan top capper for
Winsats.com handicapping background is somewhat unique. Unlike many other professional handicappers, Bryan hasn't won any handicapping competitions; he's never entered one. He's never written any books, nor has he appeared on TV or radio. He likely never will.
From the very beginning, Power's entire focus has been on making money. His life has played out like a modern American dream. Here's how it all started.
Although he was consistently brighter than his peers, Bryans early years would give no indication that he would eventually develop into one of the sharpest handicapping talents on the planet. However, Bryan does feel that having a father in the military served him well. From his dad, he learned about honor, respect and hard work. Also, having to move from one location to another helped him learn valuable life skills and lessons. Perhaps most important from a handicapping perspective, his early childhood taught him the ability and necessity to adapt to changing conditions.
As a teenager, Bryan's father was stationed in the mid-west. While his time there was relatively brief, Power made some important connections that would alter the course of his entire destiny. At the time, his best friend was the son of the local bookmaker. Bryan always knew that his friend's father was into a "different" kind of work and he even considered the possibility that he was a "bookie." This wouldn't be confirmed for several more years.
Hitting the fast forward button finds Power having graduated (top of his class) with a degree in statistics and having relocated to Las Vegas. Things weren't immediately easy. Determined to get ahead, Bryan worked two jobs. Despite the long hours, he still found plenty of time to "learn the ropes" of the sports betting game. During his next few "formative" years, Bryan began fine-tuning his "power rankings" and honing his skills, through trial and error.
Initially, Bryan wasn't a big bettor. It didn't take him long to become a successful one though. Gradually, as his bankroll increased, so did the size of his wagers. After a couple of years, he was down to one job. He eventually dropped that one too, focusing entirely on his burgeoning sports wagering career.
Life has a habit of taking some funny twists. While in a sportsbook, he ran into his old boyhood pal from the midwest. By now, his friend was involved in the "family business," which had since moved partially offshore. Now a savvy sports bettor, Bryan immediately added his friends' book to his growing list of "outs." Within two years, he was firmly established as the most successful player his friend's sportsbook had ever seen.
Rather than give Bryan the boot, his friend's company took the "if you can't beat him, join him" mentality. They offered him a job running their book. After careful consideration, he accepted and moved from Vegas to Costa Rica.
At this time, Bryan temporarily chose to give up gambling, as he decided it would be a conflict of interest to be setting the lines he would be betting on. Besides, after many years of daily wagering, he thought he might enjoy a small break.
Nearly immediately, he took the company to new heights. During this period, his reputation, skills and contacts grew. It was at this time that he came under the radar of the Internet's premier gaming site,
Winsats.com.
