I tend to post negative reviews when companies screw me, so I figured Jiffy Lube deserved a positive review for not screwing me.

I know how these places work, how they generally try to sell you crap you don't need, etc.  So I wasn't really in danger of getting scammed, but the fact that they didn't try impressed me.  In fact, when I asked which oil they recommended, they surprisingly recommended the cheaper one.

Normally I'd go to my mechanic, but it was an emergency change, and my mechanic requires appointments.  And no, I don't change my own oil because I'm a pussy.

Plus it cost pretty much the same to do it yourself. Are you still in Vegas Patrick?

  4. The only difference in using Jiffy Lube is that they use a generic oil filter.  What I use to do with my older car, I went and bought a few of the OE oil filters from the dealer, and take my own filter to Jiffy Lube.  The service still costs the same even tho you provide your own filter, but its as good as any other oil change you will get especially if you use the factory oil recommended.
