I used to spend hours every day chatting with other users on ESPN, Covers, and a few other sites. After a while there were two things I was noticing:
I was literally getting dumber. The content posted on those sites is so unintelligible (though not quite as bad as YouTube) that it's impossible to get any value or feel any sense of self worth by adding your two cents.
Those sites give you no incentive to make quality posts.
We've decided to mix it up a bit. First of all, we don't accept garbage content. If you can't take the time to write a complete thought, no offense but we don't want you here.

Secondly, we reward you for your posts! Though technically it's called an affiliate program, it's nothing like you would normally think of when you hear the term. You don't have to do any work, you just post content like normal. When you write quality content, it gets discovered by search engines such as Google and Yahoo. When a user of one of those search engines searches for something you talked about, your post will appear and sometimes it will be clicked. If it's clicked, you get credit for the user that clicked on it, and you make a bunch of money when he purchases something. Complete details can be found here.
