Hi! I'm Patrick, the founder and CEO of Line.com.
Thanks so much for checking out my site. If you don't find it to be everything you could hope for and more please drop me a note to tell me how I can make it better!
I was told that I needed an About page, but I've tried my best to answer any questions you may have about the site in various other pages and I don't want to repeat myself here, so I'll use this space to tell you a little bit about myself instead. Yes, I know, this page reeks of arrogance.
My name is Patrick Griffith. I am a 24 year old entrepreneur, fresh out of the University of Delaware. When asked what I do for a living I usually respond "software engineer" because that's how I spend the majority of my time. However, as a lot of you probably know, it's impossible to get away with doing only one job when you run a business by yourself.
I have a couple of equity partners in the business, but I run the operations by myself; coding, marketing, support, you name it - fun stuff.
I'm pretty active in the forums here. Maybe it's because I see myself as a regular guy more so than an owner, or maybe because it's because I've grown some friendships in the forums over the past couple of years, or maybe it's just a great way to shoot the breeze after a hard day of work, but I can't fathom not being an active part of the community. Unfortunately there are days every once in a while where I just don't have time to hang out in the forums, which is why I'm super grateful for our awesome moderators that keep this place running smoothly.
My goal is to never have to work a "real" job again in my life. I bust my ass on this website, working ridiculously long weeks and weekends, but I usually don't mind because I love being able to express my creativity and I love the freedom that this job has. I have no desire to get rich from this site - I just want to get it to the point where it pays my bills. You can see this mentality reflected in the pricing. I honestly, genuinely think that our Gold membership is worth at least $500/mo. But it's a lot harder to sell a $500/mo product, and I don't have the resources to hire the team that I would need to be able to push a product like that. Instead, I'd rather charge a relatively small fee, have super happy customers, and let the excitement of those customers do my marketing for me.
If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. If it's a question that someone else might benefit from as well, I'd really, really appreciate that you ask it in our forums. If it's more personal in nature, you can always send me a message through Line.com or shoot me an email. I try my best to respond personally to as many messages as possible.
